Facilities and Parish Grounds Update
Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church on a bright sunny day, the dedicated volunteers come to work and play!
Even in the midst of a pandemic where every day tasks come with more and more difficulty, it doesn’t stop our wonderful people from making sure the job gets done. The laurel hedges on the property were growing like “Jack and the Beanstalk” for some time now posing some hazards for rear-end parking. (Yup, a nice scrape on the bumper). It also brings other concerns such as excessive debris from our last windstorm among other safety issues.
The pictures below show the teamwork everyone put in to get the hedges nice and low so that our pending neighbors can see there is a community next door! Father Vinner came out to say hello to everyone as well as get his own hands on some hard work! It was great to see the joy that comes with serving together as a Parish family.
Finished Work!
Our Lady Queen of Heaven Building and Facilities Committee
Mission Statement
The mission statement of this committee is to maintain the parish buildings and grounds in a professional manner with special attention to safety and to provide a pleasant, stimulating and impressive facility in which to worship God. This team coordinates the maintenance and upgrades to the church building, Grier Hall, Kateri Center, parish office, and the parish grounds.
John Larsen also put together these wooden outdoor Station of Cross posts. It can be used by parishioners who would like to pray outdoors using social distancing, and will be ready for Good Friday.
Again, thank you to our Building and Facilities committee and our volunteers for all your hard work and dedication to the beauty and reverence of our parish.
